You really don't need to put a whole lot of effort into being OP with the Warrior. Warrior get's a huge bonus to leadership and rage, and can equip 2 weapon items (4 with one of the wifes) so he can pretty much 1 shot everything. Also both his unique skills are pretty garbage, with Runic Stone more or less just letting you make up for what you wasted in the mind skill tree. Problem is the mind skill tree does very little to actually make you stronger. Starts out with resurrection and heal in Legends, and the mind skill tree gives bonuses to gold and exp and eventually lets you trade mind runes for the other 2 types of runes, so in theory the Paladin should end every run fully optimized even with some poor play on the player's part. Paladin is the easiest to play, but they don't end up as strong as the other two. Honestly, I'm not great at the games but it doesn't take an idiot to see that if something isn't there, you can't use it and thus' strategy is a mute point, especially since a lot of the skills in both games (legends and princess) are pretty useless in your average battle (peaceful pfahahahah)Īlso, be prepared to be told you have to restart if you 'didn't play properly'. I'm playing a Warrior right now and I still haven't found a resurrection scroll and all of my unit spawns are pretty iffy. I wouldn't say the game is about strategy in the first moments of the game, as shops are randomized and you won't get important spells straight off if the odds are against you.

You have to be absolutely sure you want level 3 order / attack magic before you go into it, otherwise you're just wasting precious runes. Lots of people will still tell you to hybrid to get useful skill upgrades but it's pretty stupid to try that. So, really, Warrior is about maxing your attack/defense, depending on how you want to play. Crossworlds/Armoured Princess makes this easier since they removed, for example, the skill that lets you upgrade acolytes into inquisitors and the skill that lets you have demons/undead in your army without morale loss. If you play Warrior, you generally just brute-force everything and use scrolls UNLESS you want to try and balance your skills between might mind and magic, which is pretty damn hard when you realise that the magic tree if something you have dedicate to or know exactly what skills you want to buy. Resurrection, heal(sort of) and disabling/enabling spells(Slow, Haste, perhaps fear if you use it right). In terms of having the edge over combat in the 'You NEED this' sense e.g. Mage is optimal? I mean, if you know how to do it right, sure.
